「判断力」とは、「善悪の判断」「真偽の判断」「損得の判断」「可否の判断」を、「心」が決定することであるが、人間は、これがなかなか「公平」な「判断」ができない。

判断力

判断力（はんだんりょく）とは、物事について個人的な判断をなすことのできる能力のことである。

それは、可能性、能力の問題でもあるといわれる。そこから、判断力の有無についての議論も生じてくる。

イマヌエル・カントの『判断力批判』がこの分野の古典としてよく知られている。カントの判断力は、Urteilskraftと標記し、

これは、純粋理性や実践理性に対置して用いられ、主に趣味的な判断をなすことのできる能力と理解されていた。

つまり、判断力とはカントでは、正しい認識の能力ではなく、真偽を見抜く純粋理性と、何をなすべきか、ことの善悪を見抜く実践理性との間に

橋を架けるような能力として考えられていたのである。

犯罪などで、この能力が劣っている人間は罰せられない、といったことが言われるが、哲学の分野でのこの用語の用法とはかならずしも整合していない。
