あかるい夏の空の下、夢見るようにボートは進む。とびき り笑顔の子供たち、お話聞いて大はしゃぎ。やがて太陽や すむ時、秋は寒さを連れて来る。思い出達も、そろりそろ りと消えていく。それでも消えぬアリスの姿、彼女はまる で幽霊か。私の耳に、今もみんなのはしゃぐ声。しのびよ る冬の前にも夢を見る。流されて、いつか着くべき終わり へと、黄金の夕暮れ進みゆく、まさに人生とは夢の別名。

Lingering onward dreamily
In an evening of July--
Children three that nestle near,
Eager eye and willing ear,
Pleased a simple tale to hear--
Long has paled that sunny sky:
Echoes fade and memories die.
Autumn frosts have slain July.
Still she haunts me, phantomwise,
Alice moving under skies
